Sprint

FoundationalOperationsFrameworks

Definition

Sprint: A sprint is a fixed time period (typically 1-4 weeks) during which a development team works to complete a set amount of work. Sprints are a core element of Scrum methodology, providing regular delivery cadence and opportunities to inspect and adapt.

Example Usage

β€œIn our two-week sprints, we commit to 3-4 features and demo completed work every other Friday.”

Common Misconceptions

Longer sprints are more productive. Shorter sprints provide faster feedback loops.
Sprint scope can change mid-sprint. Once committed, sprint scope should be protected.
Sprints end when work is done. They're time-boxed and end on schedule regardless.
