User Feedback

FoundationalProductMetrics

Definition

User Feedback: User feedback is information from customers about their experience with a product—what works, what doesn't, and what they wish existed. Feedback comes through multiple channels: support tickets, surveys, interviews, reviews, and in-app prompts. The challenge is synthesizing diverse inputs into actionable insights.

Example Usage

We tag all feedback in Productboard. Patterns emerged: 'search' appeared in 40% of requests. That insight drove our search overhaul.

Common Misconceptions

All feedback deserves action. Not all feedback represents your target user or aligns with strategy.
Vocal users represent all users. Silent majority may have different needs than those who actively provide feedback.
Feedback means feature requests. Problems and pain points are more valuable than solution suggestions.
