Definition

Build-Measure-Learn: Build-Measure-Learn is the core feedback loop of the Lean Startup methodology. Teams build a minimum viable product, measure how customers respond, learn from the data, and then decide whether to persevere or pivot, repeating the cycle continuously.

Example Usage

β€œEach sprint, we complete a BML cycle, testing one hypothesis and incorporating learnings into the next iteration.”

Common Misconceptions

Build comes first in importance. Learning is the goal; building is just the means.
Each loop takes months. Effective teams complete loops in days or weeks.
You measure everything. Focus on metrics that validate or invalidate your hypothesis.

Origin: From Eric Ries's Lean Startup methodology
