Sales Funnel

FoundationalSalesMarketing

Definition

Sales Funnel: A sales funnel represents the journey customers take from first awareness through to purchase. The funnel narrows at each stage as prospects drop off, with stages typically including awareness, interest, consideration, intent, and purchase.

Example Usage

β€œOur funnel converts 10% of website visitors to leads, 20% to demos, and 30% of demos to customers.”

Common Misconceptions

Funnels are linear. Real customer journeys involve multiple touchpoints and non-linear paths.
Top of funnel is most important. Optimizing later stages often has higher impact.
One funnel fits all. Different segments and products may have different funnels.
